Mechele Bradford
Mechele is from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. She grew up with a love for music passed down to her from her family. There was always music around the house and a very big part of her family. Her dad, Harold Willis played in Rock-Abilly groups for years and progressed to country. Her mom, Billie Sue was lead vocalist of their group, while her brother, Robin played drums. Mechele started singing at the age of 5 years old. Mechele’s family all sang and played in a band together for years until her parents purchased a theater and opened a Family Country Show called the Hayloft Opry. The show ran for many years.
Michele was crowned Alabama’s Ideal Miss and went on to compete in the World Competition in Miami, Florida and won World’s Most Talented. She also won Miss Country Music America. Mechele married Steve Bradford in 1982 and they have two sons, Brent and Collin. Both of her sons play guitar and sing and continue the love of music that Mechele has enjoyed her whole life.
Mechele and her dad decided to start up another show and formed the Country Shindig with a band called Showdown, which has been running now for 23 years. She has sung at the Grand Ole Opry with one of her favorite female country singer’s, Tammy Wynette. She has opened for many name artists over the years, including Diamond Rio, The Bellamy Brothers, Craig Morgan, Sherre’ Austin, The Platters, Little Jimmy Dickens, Michelle Wright, Bob Luman, Steve Wariner, The Gatlins, and many more. She has also worked in many area studios singing demos and backup vocals on many artists’ albums.
She has been singing with Michael Dean and Memphis now for four years and really enjoys being a part of the group. She has been an Elvis fan ever since she was a little girl, which her parents instilled in her at an early age. Mechele has a great passion for entertaining her audience. Her love of music shines through her performance every time!
