Doug (J.D.) Moss

John Douglas (J.D.) Moss is a Decatur native and a 1961 graduate of old Morgan County High School. He played bass horn in the marching band there and at Auburn University, where he graduated in 1966 with a degree in mechanical engineering. During his college career, he was a co-op student at the National Space and Aeronautics Administration, from where he retired in 1997 after 35 years.

His parents instilled in him a love of gospel music when he was a youngster and in 1968, he formed a gospel group in Huntsville, The Regents. The group is still singing today with J.D. as their bass singer.

J.D. currently lives in Hartselle, AL with his wife, Tammy, and owns Moss Audio Systems, Inc., which designs, engineers and installs professional sound equipment for church auditoriums and football stadiums.
