Gayle (Dean) Root

Gayle Root was born in Limestone County, Alabama.  Her family moved to Decatur when she was a baby and she has lived there all her life.  She graduated from Decatur High School in 1984.  Gayle grew up singing gospel music  with her father and playing piano in church.  She played piano and sang in several gospel groups in the 1980’s.

Gayle married Michael in October, 1993.  She likes to jokingly say that he wasn’t “Elvis” when she married him.  Gayle currently owns her own insurance business, Allstate Insurance.  She stays busy with her business and performing with Michael Dean & Memphis.
